Prepress Department
Our PrePress department maintains a state of the art, all digital workflow using up-to-date software and equipment to deliver the finest quality and service. We take steps to assure that there are no mistakes, from the preflighting of a digital file through the quality control stage of printing.
Creating a Document:
We do not recommend that our customers create a document within another document. Example: Creating a 4"x 6" file inside an 8.5"x 11" document. If the finished file is 4"x 6", then create a 4"x 6" document and build your file within that dimension.
Bleed:
Include 0.125"(1/8) bleed or .0625"(1/16) minimum. example finished size of flyer 8.5x11, bleed dimensions are 8.75x11.25 or minimum bleed dimensions 8.625x11.125.
Fonts:
Make sure to outline all fonts. If you are using a Mac, you could collect all fonts and stuff it in a folder labeled fonts and send it along with all other artwork. However, outlining the fonts is still recommended.
File types:
Print Quality .pdf, .eps, or .ai. Every file should be created in and saved as a CMYK document. Every file that uses vector art should be saved as vector art and not rasterized. We would also accept Tiff., jpg., psd., but please realize the quality of the artwork may be diminished due to the loss of the vector lines.
Colors Used: Digital Printed
Please use CMYK colors. Delete all unused spot colors. Do not use the standard Red, Green and Blue colors from the color palette. We also recommend that you convert all spot colors to process if the document is going to print digital or in process colors. If printing with spot colors, please do not rename the color. Always supply the Pantone name and number you wish to match.
Colors Used: Screen Printed
Do not convert spot colors to process. Be sure to identify the PMS number you wish to match.
